Montrose, Colo. – Have a passion for national parks and public lands? Black Canyon of the Gunnison National Park and Curecanti National Recreation Area would love some Friends! The non-profit Friends of the Black Canyon group is welcoming like-minded park advocates to a gathering. This local non-profit seeks to enhance the connection between the local community and the national parks and support park activities, projects, fundraising, and advocacy.

You are invited to discover what Friends of Black Canyon is all about. Please attend this informational gathering on Wednesday, February 21 at the Ute Indian Museum in Montrose. Doors will open at 6:30 pm for refreshments. Stuart West, Black Canyon and Curecanti Superintendent will present a talk on both parks at 7:00 pm. Contact Joel Evans of Friends of Black Canyon for more information. 970-596-4523.
