On August 3, 2013, a search was conducted for Nicholas Bull, 24, last residing in Midland, Texas. Nicholas had been hiking on the Marufo Vega Trail with two friends when the group ran out of water and became distressed. One member of the group hiked out to get help, and a search began that same day by Park Rangers and US Border Patrol agents. The search team located Mr. Bull, who was deceased when discovered near the trail. An autopsy will be conducted to determine the cause of death, though temperatures during the day were very high. "We are truly saddened by this tragic death," stated Acting Superintendent David Elkowitz, "and offer our condolences to the Bull family and friends." |
