Temporarily Closure for Repairs Sand Island East Bay Dock

Bayfield, WI – The Sand Island East Bay Dock will be closed beginning August 15, 2021, through the rest of the visitor season to allow for needed repairs. The dock received major damage to the "L" portion of the dock during the early spring of 2019. The repairs will include reinforcing the dock with sheet pile and adding new fill, a new concrete cap, and additional armor stone. We apologize for any inconvenience and look forward to having a safer, improved dock for visitors ready for the 2022 season.
