Appomattox, Va. – The Appomattox 1865 Foundation, the Friends Group of Appomattox Court House National Historical Park is hosting a night of star and planet gazing on Friday, October 27, beginning at 8:30 p.m. The program is free and will take place in the historic village in the large yard between the McLean House and the Visitor Center. There will be benches provided, but guests are invited to bring their own chairs if desired. The Park and the Foundation are grateful to the Blue Ridge Astronomy Club for providing this program for the second time in two years. The program is clear sky dependent so if you have concerns on the day of the event, it is recommended that you check the Park’s or the Foundation’s Facebook pages, or you may call the Park Visitor Center at 434-352-8987 ext. 226.
