Amistad hosts a number of organized fishing tournaments throughout the year. These tournaments vary from small, local club events to national and international competitions. Tournament organizers work with Amistad National Recreation Area to help keep aquatic invasive species in check by coordinating inspections and advising participants of guidelines to clean, drain, and dry.
