DEL RIO, TEXAS – The Amistad National Recreation Area Visitor Center is temporarily closed Saturdays and Sundays due to staffing shortages. The visitor center remains open Monday through Friday 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Park visitors are encouraged to plan ahead to maximize their experience. For more information about visiting the park, visit its website or download the NPS app.
Camping permits and lake use passes may be purchased on location from machines at boat ramps and campgrounds. Hunting permits may be purchased online. Please allow 2 weeks to process hunting permits.
With the rising lake level, the boat ramps at Diablo East, Rough Canyon, Spur 454, and Box Canyon are open. Despite these increasing lake levels, underwater hazards are still present in the lake. Please be extra vigilant!
