The Acadia National Park annual pass sale will be held December 8 - December 31, 2008, at the winter visitor center at park headquarters on the Eagle Lake Road, Route 233. Passes will be sold at half price, or $20, and must be obtained in person with cash, check, Visa or MasterCard. No phone orders will be taken. The winter visitor center is open every day from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., except December 24 and 25. The annual passes will also be available for $20 at the Gouldsboro Town Office, December 8 - December 31. The office is open Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., and on Wednesday from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. The office is closed on weekends and on December 25, but it will be open from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. on December 24. Please call ahead for the hours for December 26. Passes must be paid for by check or cash only, not by credit card. No phone orders will be taken. The half-price sale will also take place at two other town offices, Tremont and Mt. Desert, December 8 through December 31. The Tremont office is open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday-Friday. It will be closed on December 25 and 26, and open 9 a.m to 11 a.m. on December 24. The Mt. Desert office is open from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday-Friday. It will be closed on December 25 and 26. Call ahead for hours for December 24. Payment must be by cash or check only, and no phone orders will be taken. Acadia annual passes will also be sold for $20 at the annual Bar Harbor Midnight Madness Sale on December 5, from 8 p.m. to midnight, at the Acadia information site located on the Village Green. Acadia National Park annual passes are valid for one year from month of purchase. Eighty percent of each pass sale remains right here in Acadia National Park, to be used for projects that directly benefit park visitors and resources, such as the accessible trail on top of Cadillac Mountain.
