On July 30, 2014, from 9 am to 12 pm, join Kimberly Ridley and Rebekah Raye, author and illustrator respectively of the award-winning picture book The Secret Pool, for a fun morning of nature journaling. Create your own unique memento of your family's visit to Acadia National Park. The morning begins with an easy nature walk to explore and observe the streams and trails surrounding the Nature Center at Sieur de Monts Spring off Park Loop Road, followed by fun, interactive writing and drawing activities for ages 8 to 80+. Guided by Ridley and Raye's gentle, engaging presentation, participants will each begin a nature journal chronicling their observations in words and drawings. This program also will encourage children and families to continue this practice at home and during their travels. The activity is sponsored by the Schoodic Institute and is free to the public. For more information, call Kate at 207-288-1312.
