News Release Date: October 31, 2008 Between November 1 and November 30, which is the Maine deer hunting season for rifles, the one-way section of Park Loop Road from Paradise Hill Road to Otter Cliff Road (traveling clockwise) will be closed between dark and 7 a.m. During these times the park will also close Great Head Road, between the Schooner Head Overlook intersection and the Great Head parking lot. This closure is implemented each year to protect the deer in Acadia by reducing the chances for poaching in these areas. For more information, call park headquarters at 207-288-3338, ext. 0. |
