Webinar Tips

We've been working hard to refine our webinar techniques and have learned a few things that we would like to share with you.

Two Ways to Join
Visit yose.webex.com to pre-register for a webinar. Once you have registered you will receive an email with a link that will connect you directly to the webinar. You can use this link to directly join the webinar up to 15 minutes in advance of the scheduled start time.
Or
If the webinar is underway, go to yose.webex.com and click on the Join button next to the title of the webinar.

What type of internet connection do you have?
Webex works best with a high speed internet connection (DSL, cable, etc.). If you use a satellite internet service you may experience difficulties with running the sound and video through your computer.

For optimal viewing/listening you computer should be connected to the Internet using a wired connection. If you are using a wireless Internet connection you may have sound fade in and out and/or have slow transitions between slides and the video may freeze.

What type of browser are using?
Internet Explorer (IE) 7 or newer or the latest versions of Safari and Firefox are recommended. Active X should be enabled.

Sound
You may use either your computer (VOiP) or your telephone for sound. A call in number will be provided after you join the meeting. It is a toll call. Using your computer for sound is free and recommended.

Chat
We encourage you to use the chat function ask clarifying questions, provide comments or recommendations during the presentations and the facilitated discussion. Park staff will be moderating the chat session. While we will try to include as many online comments and questions, there is no guarantee that every question will be answered. We will, however, be recording the chat transcript as part of the administrative record. Due to the expected volume of participants we will not be allowing webinar attendees to speak via the phone or computer.

When the presentations begin and the presentations go into full screen mode the video and chat panels will temporarily disappear. Use the floating menu bar that appears during the presentations to reopen the video and the chat panels.
