First Alternatives Webinar Scheduled

Can't make it to one of the in person workshops? The first online webinar workshop is scheduled for November 14, 2011, 6:30-8:00 pm. You can register now at yose.webex.com. We are tailoring this special web-based workshops to allow online participants to explore and discuss the management considerations identified in the workbook. These will be interactive webinars that allow participants to dialogue with park staff and each other.

Sneak Peak at El Portal Workshop Agenda

Still on the fence about whether or not to join us at one of the workshops? Check out the agenda for the El Portal workshop (October 27, 5-8 pm) and the companion workbook to see some of the topics that we will be discussing.

In addition to the 33 management considerations identified in the workbook, we will be sharing some conceptual drawings and studies of ways we might reuse or redesign some key areas such as the Camp 6/Day-use Parking intersection, Yosemite Lodge, Wawona store parking area, and El Portal. Due to their draft state these drawings are currently only available at the workshops, we will post them to the web once they are further refined.

El Portal Merced River Plan--Fall Alternative Workshop

5:00	Welcome Sign in and receive a copy of the workbook.	NPS Staff
5:10	Orientation to the Workshop	Facilitators: Jim Oswalde and Laurie Durnell
5:30	Gallery Walk Take a "guided tour" of the river segments and the existing management considerations, engage in one-on-one discussion with park staff, and provide input on feedback directly on life-sized display boards. Gallery walk will be available for viewing until 8 pm	NPS Staff
6:30	Group Discussion I Participants will discuss topic areas of interest based on feedback from display boards and table discussion. The dialogue will be captured on large graphic boards.	Facilitators
7:00	Group Discussion II A second discussion period will allow provide the opportunity to explore additional topics. The dialogue will be captured on large graphic boards.	Facilitators
