Wilson’s Creek National Battlefield Seeks Volunteers for Park Day 2022
(REPUBLIC, MO) – On Saturday, April 9, 2022, from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m., Wilson's Creek National Battlefield is participating in the American Battlefield Trust’s annual volunteer cleanup event, Park Day. Members of the local community are invited to help with the cleanup in the battlefield. Volunteers may participate in activities such as raking leaves; collect leaves and sticks; pick up trash; clean and paint sign; or other needed projects.
Volunteers interested in participating must pre-register. Please reach out to the park’s Park Ranger and Volunteer Coordinator, Billie Aschwege at e-mail us or call the park at 417-732-2662 extension 249. Participants should meet at the Visitor Center at 8:30 a.m. to complete registration and form into work groups. Volunteers should wear appropriate outdoor work clothing, work shoes or boots, (no open toe shoes or sandals) and bring work gloves if you have them, hat, sunscreen, and bug spray. Bring your own water bottle, snacks, or sack lunch. All other materials needed for the project will be provided.
The American Battlefield Trust is a national nonprofit land preservation organization devoted to the protection of America’s hallowed battlegrounds.
