Republic, Mo. – Wilson's Creek National Battlefield is accepting bids for planting crops within the Battlefield. Corn will be planted for the 2020 season. A soil test will be required the following season to determine whether corn or soybeans will be planted. Winter wheat or oats may also be planted other years.

Bids will be accepted for two weeks from the date of this press release.

The winning bidder will be granted a permit to plant approximately 55 acres between April 1, 2020, and November 1, 2025. Bids will be judged on the amount of the bid, ability to perform the work, previous work performance, and agreement to permit conditions. The winning bidder will be required to pay for the use of the fields on a yearly basis.

Interested bidders can request an application form, maps of the areas, and site-specific requirements through e-mail by contacting Connie Langum at Connie_Langum@nps.gov.
