WIND CAVE NATIONAL PARK, S.D. – Wind Cave National Park Superintendent Vidal Davila announced today that the park’s visitor center would close at noon on December 24, 2007, to allow staff to celebrate the holidays with their families. The Garden of Eden Cave Tour will be offered at 10:00 a.m. on December 24 for people visiting the area and wishing to see the cave. The visitor center and cave will also be closed on Christmas and New Year's days. Throughout the remainder of the winter, the visitor center will be open daily from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. “I believe it is very important for families to be together for the holidays and this gives everyone an opportunity to get home safely” said acting superintendent Rick Mossman. Tours will resume December 26. They will be offered at 10:00 a.m., 1:00 p.m. and 3:00 p.m. Tours last about 1 hour and are about ¼ mile long. |
