The Island of Misfit Morphs is a nonprofit educational outreach program dedicated to educating the public on how to respect wildlife and those beings that are different and unique. Snakes, lizards, frogs, arachnids, and even insects get a bad reputation through media, tall tales, and word of mouth. Come join us for a night of hands-on learning about the animals that are important to various ecosystems and how you can help protect them.

 

The 1st Armored Division Iron Outlaws - Friday, June 9 at 8:30 p.m.

The 1st Armored Division’s country band—Iron Outlaws—will get your boots tapping with both classic favorites and current billboard hits. Their diverse repertoire includes tunes ranging from George Strait and Dolly Parton to Carrie Underwood and Zac Brown, perfectly showcasing the many emotions found in past and present country music with a little bit of honkey-tonk, a little bit of heartbreak, and everything in between.

 

Songs and Stories of Our National Parks - Saturday, July 8 at 8:30 p.m.

National parks are best known for wildlife and scenery, but the reasons parks matter go
far beyond the tangible. From Yellowstone to Hawai’i Volcanoes, Gettysburg to White Sands, national parks are powerful places that impact people in extraordinary ways. Rangers Megan and Gary celebrate the National Park Service’s next hundred years by blending music and storytelling to share deeply personal experiences from national parks across the country. The journey takes participants through a full range of emotions, leaving audiences uplifted, proud, and looking forward to creating their own memories in their national parks.

 

The 1st Armored Division Old Ironsides Band Shockwave - Monday, August 7 at 8:00 p.m.

Shock Wave is the 1st Armored Division Band’s highly versatile and energetic pop/rock band. The group comes prepared with a wide repertoire of music ranging from R&B, Hip Hop, Old School Rap, Classic/Alternative Rock, and Country. Shock Wave has performed across Southwestern Texas and abroad, entertaining deployed troops during Operation Iraqi Freedom. Join Shock Wave and its innovative style and boundless energy under a moon-filled night.

 

Tularosa Basin Musicians Union - Wednesday, September 6 at 7:30 p.m.

Tularosa Basin Musicians Union plays a unique style of Americana Folk and acoustic blues music drawing on the stark and beautiful inspirations from their home state, New Mexico. The New Mexicana style of the Tularosa Basin Musicians Union is a contemporary acoustic folk style steeped in the sun-baked blues of the southern New Mexico deserts.

 

A 3D Journey Through White Sands - Thursday, October 5 at 7:00 p.m.

Join Rangers David and Eugene for a unique 3D journey of White Sands. Come out and see what makes White Sands special from white endemic insects that live no else place on earth to 40,000 year-old fossils. You may know that White Sands is home to the largest gypsum dunefield on earth, but did know we are also home to an ancient lake with giant Ice Age mammals including mammoths, gypsum dunes similar to what has been found on Mars, and dunes filled with an abundance life too small to see with the naked eye? Be prepared for a fun ride through time and place!
