Hagatna, Guam – During the shutdown of the federal government due to the lapse of appropriations, national parks will remain as accessible as possible while still following all applicable laws and procedures. Park roads, walking paths, and memorials at War in the Pacific National Historical Park will remain accessible to visitors, but emergency and rescue services will be limited.
Thanks to a generous donation by our partner, Pacific Historic Parks, the T. Stell Newman Visitor Center and bookstore will be open, with adjusted hours of operations that least impact visitor services. The Visitor Center will be open from 9 am – 3:30 pm, except on the following days when it will be closed:
January 1, 2, 2019
January 8, 10, 2019
Please note adjusted dates and times are subject to change throughout the duration of the federal government shutdown. Because of the shutdown trash removal throughout the park will be minimal. The community is asked to please take their trash with them when leaving park grounds to ensure a clean and healthy environment for all to enjoy. The Asan Bay Overlook will remain open until 5 pm daily.
Because of the federal government shutdown, NPS social media and websites are not being monitored or updated and may not reflect current conditions. For updates on the shutdown, please visit www.doi.gov/shutdown.
