Winter Trails Conditions


Winter Trails Report 3/29/2023

Because the Kabetogama ice road has developed deep ruts, it is now closed for the season. Rainy Lake ice road remains open, but is no longer being plowed. The snowmobile trails remain open and staked, but are no longer being groomed. Ski trails remain open but are not currently being groomed. Remember, ice is never 100% safe so pay attention to signage and be aware of your surroundings. As a reminder, please only park in plowed, designated areas.


Snowmobile Trails:
International Falls to Kettle Falls (Purple Trail) - Open, groomed from green intersection to Lost Bay portage
Rainy Lake/Black Bay to Kabetogama Lake to Ash River (Green Trail) - Open, groomed
Ash River to Crane Lake (Green Trail) - Open, groomed
Chain of Lakes (Dashed Black Trail) - Open, groomed
Ash River to Kettle Falls (Yellow Trail) - Open, groomed
East Namakan Lake to Sand Point Lake (Blue Trail) - Open, groomed

Ice Roads:
Rainy Lake Ice Road - Open to Black Bay ski & snowshoe trailhead
Rainy Lake Dryweed Loop - Not Open
Kabetogama Lake Ice Road - Not Open
Kabetogama Lake Ice Road West and East Spur Roads - Not Open
