VOYAGEURS NATIONAL PARK, Minn. — Voyageurs National Park, the Voyageurs Conservancy, and other partners will host the sixth annual Voyageurs Star Party on September 11 at the Rainy Lake Visitor Center and September 12 at the Kabetogama Visitor Center. These free events offer visitors of all ages an opportunity to stargaze, learn about the night sky, and experience a certified International Dark Sky Park.

The two-day event will feature guest speakers, ranger-led programs, arts and crafts, music, evening canoe outings, telescope viewing, and guided constellation tours. Activities are designed for both experienced astronomers and beginners.

“You won’t want to miss our annual Star Party. Each year offers unique experiences – from learning about nocturnal wildlife to the occasional lucky glimpse of meteors and even the Northern Lights,” said Kate Severson, Program Manager for Interpretation and Education. “Beneath some of the darkest skies in the country, visitors can gain a deeper understanding of the wonders of our universe while discovering the importance of preserving dark skies and our national parks.”

Film screenings of Northern Nights, Starry Skies will be offered at 1:00 p.m. and 3:00 p.m. each day. Evening programs and activities will take place from 6:30 p.m. to 11:00 p.m.
