The United States Air Force Reserve Brass Quintet will be in Vicksburg over Memorial Day weekend to participate in the commemoration and observances at Vicksburg National Military Park and Vicksburg National Cemetery.
They will be giving a concert of military and Civil War era music from 2:00pm until 4:00pm on Sunday, May 27, 2012 at the U.S.S. Cairo and Museum at Vicksburg National Military Park, as part of the park's annual "Military through the Ages" tribute to America's armed forces and veterans. The band will also perform and assist Vicksburg area veteran's groups with their Memorial Day observances, and will be at Vicksburg National Cemetery at 12:30pm on Monday, May 28th to provide music during the memorial wreath-laying ceremony.
The Band of the US Air Force Reserve Brass Quintet programs are part of their Memorial Day Tour in Alabama, Louisiana, and Mississippi. Their stops include the National WWII Museum in New Orleans, the Battleship USS Alabama Museum, and many more! These highly trained musicians are all active duty personnel in the Air Force. Offering a wide range of music, the quintet's performances include jazz, pop, traditional brass quintet repertoire, and patriotic selections. Park admission for Saturday and Sunday events is $8 per car, but no charge will be made for those attending the wreath-laying ceremony at Vicksburg National Cemetery on Monday.
