On Monday, January 16th, 2017 Vicksburg National Military Park will partner with Beulah Cemetery to host a volunteer project in honor of this year’s Martin Luther King Jr. Day of Service. The work will begin at 8 am and last until 12 pm. A light lunch and water will be provided. Space is limited to 25 volunteers, so if you’re interested you should sign up soon by contacting the park volunteer coordinator, Molly, at (601) 629-8133 or e-mail us.

Volunteers will spend the morning working on important cemetery maintenance. Volunteers will remove branches, leaves, and other debris and will help clean headstones in a portion of the cemetery. Volunteers should come prepared with a water bottle and should wear warm layers that they don’t mind getting dirty. They should also wear sturdy shoes like sneakers or boots. All tools and protective gear will be provided for volunteers. Beulah Cemetery is located on Old Jackson Road at the end of Martin Luther King Boulevard. If you have any questions or would like to sign up to volunteer, please contact Molly at (601) 629-8133 or e-mail us.
