On June 28-29, 2014, Vicksburg National Military Park invites visitors to step back in time for a weekend of living history with reenactors portraying the Confederate troops that defended Vicksburg during the famous 47-day siege 150 years ago. Members of the 3rd Louisiana infantry will be encamped along Confederate lines on the tour road. There, visitors can learn the story behind those that made the supreme sacrifice and shaped the story of Vicksburg.

Camp will be open for visitors from 9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. Saturday and 9:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. Sunday. This group will also be taking part in our regularly scheduled artillery demonstrations at the main visitor center.

Visitors are urged to wear comfortable clothing, sunscreen and bring plenty of water for this outdoor activity.
