The story of Valles Caldera comes to life at the Volcano Discovery Center, located 4 miles down the park entrance road in the Cabin District. At the Volcano Discovery Center, we invite you to:

• Visit with rangers and volunteers.
• Get a map and park information.
• Step into the park store for souvenirs, gifts, and snacks.
• Experience an immersive simulation of the Valles Caldera eruption every hour on the half-hour.
• Interact with the multisensory park exhibit to learn about geology, cultural history, ecology, and scientific discovery in the caldera.
• Join a ranger-led program.
• View Valles Caldera-inspired artwork by previous artists in residence.
• Take a seat and enjoy sweeping views of Valle Grande from the front porch.
• Learn about the park via interpretive signs.
• Watch wildlife through spotting scopes.
• Hike the Cabin District Interpretive Trail.

No flush restrooms or potable water available. Portable toilets located in adjacent parking areas. Accessible parking and wheelchair ramp are located at the building's rear entrance.
