The more than 12,000 soldiers and hundreds of civilians that marched into Valley Forge with the Continental Army on December 19, 1777 made a camp that essentially overnight became the fourth-largest city in the American states at the time. Many of the key locations below can be visited as part of the Encampment Tour.
