LAS VEGAS, Nev. –Experience Ice Age Las Vegas at a brand-new travelling exhibit at the Springs Preserve, developed by Tule Springs Fossil Beds National Monument: "Apparitions of the Ice Age." This exhibit features scientifically accurate paintings that depict prehistoric life at Tule Springs during the last Ice Age. This exhibit also features interpretive panels that explain how scientific research informs our understanding of changing environments. This exhibit opens at the Springs Preserve on November 25 in their Primrose Gallery and runs until April 2, 2023.

The Springs Preserve is located at 333 S Valley View Blvd, Las Vegas, NV 89107.

Four new paintings by renowned paleoartist Dr. Julius Csotonyi are featured in this exhibit, along with fossils collected from Tule Springs Fossil Beds National Monument. An interdisciplinary team of researchers and National Park Service staff came together with the artist to create these four paintings based on scientific interpretations of the rock, fossil, and pollen records of Tule Springs.

Dr. Julius Csotonyi is a natural history illustrator specializing in scientifically inspired visual art. Dr. Csotonyi draws from his own scientific background in ecology and microbiology and works collaboratively with researchers to visually portray the findings of their work. He invites viewers to see the overlaps in prehistoric life with the world around us today.  He hopes that in learning from our past, we feel inspired to protect biodiversity today. Project alerts and updates can be found at NPS.gov/TUSK.
