Dear Theodore Roosevelt National Park,
Bison Elementary School is requesting a waiver of entrance fees for May 1, 2018 through May 2, 2018. We will be bringing 29 5th grade students and 6 chaperones in two minibuses.
Our visit has an educational purpose. During May our students will be finishing their science unit entitled Prairie Habitats and Ecosystems. We will be looking at the relationship between prairie dogs, coyotes, badgers, and bison in the ecosystem and how they benefit each other. We will also work on identifying essential plants in the ecosystem and weeds as well.
Our visit is relevant to the park’s resources. Theodore Roosevelt National Park has one of the least disturbed prairies in North Dakota. Within Theodore Roosevelt National Park is Buck Hill which appears as it has for hundreds of years and will be looking for natural plants within the prairie. We will also visit the prairie dog towns in hopes a coyote or badger are hunting so we can witness predatory relationships in nature.
Enclosed you will find a copy of our school’s tax exemption letter which should serve as proof that we are a bona-fide educational institution.
Should you have any questions my number is 1 800 CALL US or you can email me at Bison@xyzschool.edu.
Thank you,
Dr. Buddy Bison
