Camping at Theodore Roosevelt

The park has two campgrounds (both have one group site and many standard sites) and one group site for camping with horses. All campgrounds are primitive (no hookups, no showers).

All sites are by reservation at recreation.gov. More information about reservations below.

Reservations

The park cannot accept reservations directly. All reservations must be made through recreation.gov. The following links will direct you to the appropriate recreation.gov pages, or you can call recreation.gov at 1 [phone].

Cottonwood Campground

Sites may be reserved up to 6 months in advance.

Group site reservations open each year on the first business day in March at 8:00 am MST.

Juniper Campground

Backpack Camping

Hikers and horseback riders who choose to spend the night in the park's backcountry can do so by filling out a free Backcountry Permit in the North or South Unit Visitor Centers.
