Thing to Do
Grant Grove Village to General Grant Tree Winter Trail

Skiiers and snowshoers will start the trail at the Grant Grove visitor center and cross the road to the South Boundary Trail. Continue on the South Boundary Trail through Azalea campground. There will be a fork where the South Boundary Trail continues to the left and the Sunset Trail to the right. Take the Sunset Trail and pass over Grant Tree Road. Follow that loop trail to the General Grant Grove.
Trail Information
- Trailhead: Grant Grove Village
- Distance: 3.9 miles round-trip (6.2 km)
- Difficulty: Medium
- Elevation Gain/Loss: 390 feet
- Approximate Round Trip: 2.5 – 4 hours
Caution
This trail is not clearly marked. We highly recommend carrying a map while going on this hike.
Please do not snowshoe or walk directly on ski tracks. The tread of snowshoes (or boots) can create divots and ruin carefully laid ski tracks, creating hazards for skiers. Skiers/snowshoers going uphill yield to those going downhill. Fill in depressions in the snow after falling to reduce hazards to others. Visit our Skiing and Snowshoeing page for safety tips, guidance, and snowshoe ranger program information.
