MURFREESBORO, TN - How would you like to spend a Saturday morning getting to know Stones River National Battlefield and the Stones River Greenway by working to remove trash and invasive exotic plants from these special places? Stones River National Battlefield and more than a dozen local partners call upon our friends and neighbors to join us at the Murfreesboro’s Old Fort Park on Saturday September 27, 2025, for National Public Lands Day.
More than 170,000 volunteers throughout the nation will visit their favorite parks, beaches, wildlife preserves, or forests and chip in to help improve these treasured places. They’ll be taking part in the 32nd annual National Public Lands Day (NPLD), the largest single-day volunteer event for public lands in our country.
Individuals and groups may register ahead of time at https://forms.office.com/g/C5iWRZPg7Y. Please register by Wednesday, September 24, 2025.
WHAT: We will remove invasive exotic plants and trash at Fortress Rosecrans, Old Fort Park, and the Lytle Creek Greenway.
WHEN: Saturday, September 27, 2025 - 9:00am to 11:30am (Check-in begins at 8:30 AM)

Volunteers should wear closed toe shoes and long pants. We also suggest you wear or bring a long sleeve shirt, water bottle and work gloves.
