Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore (National Lakeshore) is hosting an education workshop on Wednesday, September 18. This free workshop is open to educators, teachers, parents, and the public who are interested in finding out how the National Lakeshore can support student learning.

There will be three 45-minute identical sessions at the Main Branch of the Traverse Area District Library at 610 Woodmere Avenue, Traverse City, MI 49686. The sessions will be presented at 5:00 p.m., 6:00 p.m., and 7:00 p.m. in the Thirlby Room.

Attendees will learn about classroom programs, ranger-led field trips, teacher-led field trip kits, distance learning programs, and service learning projects. We will also have fun with a hands-on activity related to Great Lakes health that can be tried out in the classroom or their next visit to the National Lakeshore.

Names of attendees will also be entered into a drawing for a copy of the Great Lakes in My World curriculum. One name will be randomly selected from each session. No registration is needed for this program.

This program is neither sponsored nor endorsed by the Traverse Area District Library.
