Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore (National Lakeshore) is looking for educators who want to partner with the park. Educators will assist the National Lakeshore with developing educational programs that can be used both in the classroom and for field trips. Interested educators can email Joshua Schultz at joshua_schultz@nps.gov.

Educators will be working independently at home or where they feel most comfortable, and will send hours spent and materials developed to the National Lakeshore’s new Education Technician, Joshua Schultz. Occasional meetings and brainstorm sessions will be offered and volunteers are welcome to attend. There is no requirement to meet any specific amount of hours volunteered. The quality of our programs will directly be influenced by how much our community of educators assist in the development of them. Once produced, it should be comforting to know that all of our programs will be offered to the public free of charge.

This year’s main focus is on distance learning, including video conferencing with classrooms and stand-alone in classroom programs or videos. Topics covered will align with Michigan state standards, Next Generation Science standards, and the National Lakeshore's mission. We are looking forward to partnering with educators who want to use the National Lakeshore in their classroom. Join us in creating educational materials designed for the enlightenment of future generations.
