Armys Strongest Post 240th Anniversary of the Battles of Saratoga
October 7, 2017 marks exactly the 240th anniversary of the Second Battle of Saratoga. 240 years ago, the British built the “army’s strongest post”, known today as Balcarres Redoubt, in an effort to win the Battles of Saratoga. Step onto the very same ground and join living history reenactors as they portray British Redcoat soldiers and followers, American Loyalists, and a French Canandien to recount the events of that day.

Camp Now or Never Salutes 240th Anniversary of the Battles of Saratoga
Visit Saratoga National Historical Park at the ca. 1775 Neilson House, the site of “Camp Now or Never”, and see men, women, and children living the lives of Continental Army and Militia personnel who inhabited the very same ground in September and October 1777 during the Battles of Saratoga!

New York State Monitoring for Tick-Borne Illnesses
Earlier today, the New York Department of Health released information regarding their surveillance efforts in Saratoga County for ticks testing positive for tick-borne illnesses. Of the 2,700 ticks collected for testing in 2017, 22 ticks from five locations, tested positive for Powassan, including ticks collected at Saratoga National Historical Park.
