The San Juan National Historic Site has approved a Commercial Filming Permit for the production of a movie beginning Sunday, June 4th through Saturday, June 10th, 2017, located at Castillo San Cristobal. The permit will require intermittently closing the visitor center and a full closure to vehicles needing parking, including Commercial Use Authorization Operators, on Monday, June 5th, 2017 from 9:00 am-12:00 pm and Tuesday, June 6th, 2017 from 9:00 am-11:00 am.
The rest of the park, including Castillo San Felipe del Morro will remain operating as normal from 9:00 am to 6:00 pm. Visitors can also access Castillo San Cristobal using the historic ramp entrance on Calle Norzagaray. During the intermittent closure, parking for Commercial Use Authorization operators will be authorized to use the “Outer Defenses” roadway, located just west of the P.R.’s Capitol building.
The cast and crew will be filming in the Troop Quarters, Long Tunnel, Dungeon and Outer Defenses areas of Castillo San Cristobal. All of these areas will be open to the public during the staging; intermittent access may affect visitors’ use of these areas during filming. We apologize for any inconvenience or distraction this permit may cause.
