For fiscal years 2023 and 2024, the San Juan National Historic Site has embarked on a series of projects to ensure that historic fortifications are ready to meet challenges related to the effects of climate change and sea level rise. Last year over 100,000 volunteers built trails and bridges, planted trees and plants, and removed trash and invasive plants.
