TUCSON, Ariz. – The Mica View Trail in the east district of Saguaro National Park will be closed for resurfacing from January 5 through March 7, 2026.  This accessible trail was last resurfaced in 2016, and the material has come to the end of its lifecycle.  By replacing the deteriorating material with a new durable surface, visitors with wheelchairs and other mobility devices will be able to continue using the trail for years to come.

Both the Mica View Picnic Area and the Broadway Trailhead will remain open during the construction. Access to Mica View Picnic Area from Broadway Trailhead is still available through the Cactus Forest Trail, to the east, which links to the Mica View Trail south of the picnic area. Crews will be running heavy equipment including skid steers and rollers throughout the project, and visitors are asked to use caution around any equipment or materials being stored at the worksite.
