Please be aware, we do not have an indoor classroom space. Field trips are weather and staff dependent. We do have a picnic area if you would like to enjoy your lunch at the park before returning to school. Painting with Pollinators (Pre-Kindergarten through Second Grade) Part of the Pollinators to Pioneers program Students become bees and butterflies, using paint to mimic the process of pollination in a hands-on creative art experience. ~60 minutes Can You Survive the Winter? (Second Grade through Fifth Grade) Almost half of the French who spent the winter of 1604-05 on Saint Croix Island passed away - because of their diet. Can you make better choices? ~30 minutes Seeds on the Move (Third Grade through Fifth Grade) Part of the Pollinators to Pioneers program Students will sketch a variety of seeds, noting features that help them move or spread and then build and deploy models representing one of the dispersal strategies. ~60 minutes If the Statues Could Talk (Third Grade through Fifth Grade) The statues tell the story of the encounter between the Passamaquoddy and the French in 1604. ~30 minutes CSI: Special Outdoor Unit (Sixth Grade through Eighth Grade) Part of the Pollinators to Pioneers program Students will observe and record detailed observations about plants and trees on the phenology walk, contributing their data to a national database to support scientific research. ~90 minutes |
