Park staff will be removing hazard trees during the month of April at Sprague Lake as part of ongoing beetle mitigation work. Temporary trail and picnic area closures will be implemented during tree falling operations. Temporary work stoppages can occur, on occasion, to allow hikers and vehicles through. Mitigation work may also occur along the access corridor to Sprague Lake later in April. Temporary delays may occur at the junction of Sprague Lake and Bear Lake Road during this project. These projects will not take place on weekends. For more information about Rocky Mountain National Park please contact the park's Information Office at (970) 586-1206 or visit the park's website section on forest health. |
