Fall Film Series Continues in December at Rocky Mountain National Park

This fall join us each Saturday night for a film festival highlighting North American Wildlife Unleashed Across America and Surviving! The programs will begin at 7:00 p.m. at the Beaver Meadows Visitor Center in Rocky Mountain National Park.  Learn about how wildlife in North America makes the most of their continent, whether in a “wild” or “urban setting.”  All programs are free and open to the public.

SEASONS OF THE OTTER: A YELLOWSTONE LAKE STORY

The Yellowstone Lake region contains an immense variety of wildlife and unusual geologic features that create a truly unique habitat.  The otters follow the cutthroat trout, the foundation for a complex food chain, involving grizzly bears, coyotes, eagles and osprey.  In this 52 minute venture, the river otter will guide you through this wilderness world and on the way reveal the intimate life of the otter. 

 

Saturday, December 2, 7:00 p.m. SEASON OF THE BEAR

This one hour program is entertaining and educational for the whole family! See wild black bears up close and personal, eating, sleeping, playing, nursing and just being bears.   Discover the history and evolution of black bears, follow black bears during the four seasons of the year, and learn how we can live with bears.  Bears take center stage as they let us into their private lives. This program is suitable for all ages.

 

Saturday, December 9, 7:00 p.m. YELLOWSTONE:  REALM OF THE COYOTE

Danger in Yellowstone for a young, outcast coyote!  When a young coyote named Cain is cast out by his pack, he must learn to survive in a wilderness both beautiful and treacherous. As the coyote’s journey unfolds, he will encounter a large cast of wildlife characters in what has been called America’s own Serengeti. Saturday, December 16, 7:00 p.m. WORLD OF RAPTORS

World Of Raptors is an intimate guide to American birds of prey that portrays the majestic power and beauty of North America’s falcons, hawks and eagles in all their wild glory. Narrated by Academy Award winning actress Joanne Woodward, and filled with spectacular aerial photography, World Of Raptors follows internationally renowned bird authority, Morley Nelson, on an odyssey of natural discovery that will educate, entertain, and inspire many during this 55 minute film.

 

There are no evening programs December 23 and December 30.
