On Monday, August 25, weather permitting, a chip seal project will begin on Trail Ridge Road on the east side of Rocky Mountain National Park from Rainbow Curve to Alpine Visitor Center, an approximate 11-mile section. During the chip seal project, traffic will be reduced to one lane, and 30 minute delays should be expected. The project will take place through Friday, August 29. Cyclists and motorcyclists should be prepared for rough road conditions.

Fog sealing will take place after the chip seal has been completed and after the Labor Day weekend. This important project will seal the surface of this section and is critical for the long term protection of the road. All facilities and trailheads along this section of road will be open during the project. Work will not take place during the weekends.

For further information about Rocky Mountain National Park, please call the park's Information Office at (970) 586-1206.
