Celebrate Denali National Park and Preserve's 100th Birthday during National Park Week by exploring on bicycle! Join a ranger-led bike ride from the Teklanika rest stop on:
    • Saturday April 15th at 1:00 pm
    • Saturday April 22nd at 1:00 pm

The bike ride will take place on the Denali Park Road from the rest stop to the beginning of the Igloo canyon (roundtrip 10 miles). For a more moderate ride there will be a turn around option in the Igloo forest just past the Teklanika bridge (roundtrip 3 miles).

Bring bikes, helmets, snacks and water for a great day in the park rain or shine. The ranger will make stops along the route to point out plants, animal sign and share natural or cultural history information with participants. Gather for the start of the bike ride at the Teklanika rest stop covered shelter. Please remember that this is 29 miles inside the park, and the speed limit is 35 mph (except when posted lower); so try to leave the park entrance no later than noon to be at Teklanika rest stop in time for the bike ride.

This bike ride is a great way to celebrate Denali's 100th birthday by participating in the Human Hundred Challenge. The Challenge encourages visitors to get outside, get active, and log miles using human-powered means in 2017. Don't forget, weekends during National Park Week are free - April 15 & 16 and April 22 & 23! This means you do not need to pay the normal $10-per-person entry fee at Denali.

This program is contingent on road conditions. If the road is closed east of Teklanika rest stop due to snow or ice the bike program will be re-routed if conditions allow. If the road is closed at the Headquarters gate the bike program will be canceled. Please check at the Winter Visitor Center for updates on conditions seven days a week 9:00 am to 4:30 pm or call the park information line at 907-683-6532.
