Crescent City, CA – Patrick Pollard, Facility Manager at Redwood National and State Parks, has been recognized for his exceptional leadership, innovation, and collaborative spirit, earning top honors for his role in revitalizing the park’s Facility Management program and delivering outstanding results through partnership-driven projects.Since joining Redwood, Patrick has transformed the Facility Management program into one of the most effective in the National Park Service. He is respected by staff, partners, and peers for addressing challenges with creativity and a calm demeanor. His leadership combines expert business acumen with a genuine investment in people, earning regional and national recognition for excellence in program management.
Upon notification of the award, Patrick stated, “This is a team award. I’m honored and grateful to be working with so many people dedicated to accomplishing great things in one of the most beautiful places on earth.”
One key success has been Patrick’s leadership on the Prairie Creek Fish Hatchery project, where his approach ensured compliance and funding alignment amidst a complex, multi-stakeholder effort. Additionally, he oversaw the completion of the long-delayed Davison Road culvert project, relieving persistent flooding issues for neighboring communities.
Patrick has also strengthened strategic partnerships, integrating National Park Service staff into the Redwoods Rising restoration project and negotiating a road maintenance agreement with California State Parks for improved efficiency and safety.
Notably, he established a partnership with the U.S. Air Force’s Innovation Readiness Team, bringing new resources and training opportunities to Redwood. The Air Force chose Redwood for its professionalism and energy.
Patrick’s achievements illustrate strong leadership rooted in collaboration and a commitment to serving both people and the environment.
Redwood National and State Parks share in the perpetual stewardship of ancientcoast redwood forests, waterways, and coastline on the homeland of Yurok, Chilula,and Tolowa peoples; for the enjoyment, education, and inspiration of everyone; with a commitment to restoration of damaged landscapes.
