Camping at Oak Ridge Campground

Whether by yourself, with your family, or part of a large group, Prince William Forest Park has a variety of different opportunities to go camping or stay in a rustic cabin in the woods of Northern Virginia! While there are no restraurants or camp stores in the park, there are a variety of convenience stores and places to eat in the surrounding community.

Tent Camping

Prince William Forest Park has two different front country campgrounds as well as a backcountry campground. Oak Ridge Campground is a family camping area, Turkey Run Ridge Group Campground is a group camping area, and Chopawamsic Backcountry Area is a backcountry hike-in campground. Campground reservations for the group, family, and backcountry campgrounds can be made on recreation.gov.

Cabin Camping

There are five historic cabin camps in Prince William Forest Park that were built in the 1930s by the Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC) as summer camps for children from the Washington D.C. area. Four of these camps are available for group rentals at recreation.gov, and Cabin Camp 3 also has individual cabin rentals available on recreation.gov.

RV Camping

Prince William RV Park is a concessioner-operated campground within Prince William Forest Park, offering year-round RV camping with full-hookup and water-and-electric sites. Facilities include restrooms with showers, laundry facilities, and a seasonal swimming pool. For current rates, site information, and reservations, visit the Prince William RV Park website or call 703-221-2474. Reservations are handled directly by the concessioner.
