Six AC Level 2 (240V) electric vehicle charging stations with J1772 connectors are available for public use at the Bear Valley Visitor Center parking lot at Point Reyes National Seashore. These higher voltage charging stations, installed in June 2022, replace the three 120 V electric vehicle charging stations that were installed in late August 2014. Use of these charging stations is free and on a first-come, first-served basis. (Directions to the Bear Valley Visitor Center.) Plan your trip with the Alternative Fueling Station Locator from the Department of Energy to find additional EV charging stations in West Marin (enter 94956 in the zip code field) and throughout the country. NOTICE: Please be aware that parking in the Bear Valley Visitor Center parking lot—including at the EV charging stations—between midnight and 6 am is prohibited. An exception is made for visitors with current backcountry camping permits. Campers who have driven plug-in electric or hybrid vehicles may park overnight at the Bear Valley EV charging stations so long as they display the parking pass that was issued to them when they picked up their camping permit. |
