Fire danger at Point Reyes National Seashore and Golden Gate National Recreation Area (GGNRA) lands in Marin County is rated as "Extreme" today, Tuesday, September 2. Restrictions that will be in effect today within the Seashore boundaries are:

Fire Danger Rating is based the Burning Index which is an estimate of how difficult it will be to control a wildland fire if one ignites. The Burning Index is based on weather and vegetation conditions as well as vegetation type. -NPS- |
