Point Reyes National Seashore and the north district of Golden Gate National Recreation Area have just released a concepts newsletter updating the public on the general management planning process. An upcoming workshop has been set for public input on Point Reyes National Seashore’s General Management Plan update (GMP) and Environmental Impact Statement. This planning process will be conducted over the next several years and a final GMP will be developed out of this process. The GMP will be the management tool to guide the park for the next 10-20 years. The new plan will update the existing plan completed in 1980.

The workshop comments, as well as written comments submitted, will be used to develop alternatives for a future draft GMP for public review and comment. To receive copies of the newsletter, please write to the Superintendent, Point Reyes National Seashore. Public comment can be mailed to the Superintendent, Point Reyes National Seashore, Point Reyes Station, Ca 94956, ATTN: GMP until January 31, 2004.

A workshop is scheduled at the following time and location:

Wednesday, January 14 at 6:30 PM in the Red Barn Classroom at park headquarters.
