Pursuant to the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) and the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA), the National Park Service, and Marin County Community Development Agency have prepared an Environmental Assessment (EA) and CEQA Initial Study Checklist for the replacement and rehabilitation of the facilities at Johnson Oyster Company (JOC). JOC operates under a reservation of use and occupancy agreement with the National Park Service. The JOC reservation of use and occupancy expires in 2012. Based on the EA, the National Park Service proposes to approve a Finding of No Significant Impact (FONSI) for the proposal, Alternative B: Replacement and Rehabilitation of JOC Facilities. Based on the Initial Study, Marin County has determined there will not be a significant environmental impact; therefore, a Negative Declaration will be prepared. The National Park Service and Marin County Community Development Agency invite you to express your comments on the EA to the point of contact listed below by June 19, 1998: Superintendent, Point Reyes National Seashore, Point Reyes, CA 94956, fax number (415)663-8132 or by email. -NPS- |
