Description: (PreK-2nd Grade) Students do chores, learning tasks, and play games that settler and Paiute children would have done to illustrate how life was at Pipe Spring compared to their current lives (1-2 hours)
Theme: The various lifeways and subsistence strategies utilized at Pipe Spring by different cultures offer diverse opportunities to experience and reflect upon the difficulties of survival and adaptation in an arid setting, decisions about where and how we live, reasons for westward expansion, and the impacts it has had on the local environment.

Field Trip Location: Pipe Spring National Monument
Times: (1-2 hours for field trip) All lesson stations are around 15 to 20 minutes. Recommend selecting three to four stations for field trip.
Let’s Work, Learn, and Play! is a curriculum based field trip with a pre-trip activity meant to prepare students for their field trip in the classroom, and a post-trip assessment intended to measure what students learned from their trip.
