Accessibility

Piscataway Park welcomes all visitors with disabilities.

The park was created to preserve the historic views of the Potomac River across from George Washington's Estate at Mount Vernon. Piscataway Park has multiple locations to visit, some of which are run by the Accokeek Foundation.

The Accokeek Creek boardwalk and the path to the Marshall Hall ruins are wide, flat, and mostly level. Many other areas of the park are undeveloped and can pose challenges for visitors using wheelchairs or mobility devices. See more information below. Marshall Hall

There is a concrete boat ramp, parking area, picnic tables, and the ruins of Marshall Hall. There is no running water or restroom facilities.

Boat Ramp

There is a paved parking lot with six standard spaces, 14 spaces for oversized vehicles and boat trailers, and additional space for more vehicles and trailers. There are no designated accessible parking spaces.

The boat ramp is paved concrete with a pier extending down the center.

Seeing the Ruins

There is a small gravel parking area by the Marshall Hall ruins with six parking spaces, including one designated accessible parking space.

A flat gravel path loops from the parking area to the front of the ruins. There are picnic tables on the lawn next to the ruins.

Accokeek Creek Boardwalk

There is a small gravel parking area off of Bryan Point Road. The road to the parking area and the parking area itself are unpaved. There are no designated accessible parking spaces.

A wide dirt and gravel path connects the parking area to the boardwalk. The boardwalk is nearly 1000 feet long with a couple information signs and benches. The wood planks may be slippery when wet. Where it ends, there is a trail that continues to Mockley Point.

 

Walk the nature trails and meet animals in the barnyard at National Colonial Farm.

National Colonial Farm

The National Colonial Farm is a living history museum that shows what a farm would have looked like around the time of the Civil War. The farm is run by a park partner, the Accokeek Foundation. In addition to the farm, there is a fishing pier and nature trails.

Farmington Landing is a popular fishing spot for the local community.

Farmington Landing

At Farmington Landing, there is an unpaved parking area next to an undeveloped dirt boat ramp. There is no designated accesible parking spots, and the parking area surface can get muddy with large potholes.

Service Animals

Service animals are welcome at Piscataway Park. They are legally permitted anywhere that visitors can go. Service animals are individually trained to perform a specific task that assists a person with a disability. See the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) definition of a service animal.
