FORT WASHINGTON, Md.— The National Park Service (NPS) is negotiating a long-term lease with a potential operator for Fort Washington Marina at Piscataway Park.
“Fort Washington Marina is an important access point for Piscataway Creek and the Potomac River. It services as a docking point, but also as a community gathering space for marina users,” Park Superintendent Tara D. Morrison said. “The National Park Service looks forward to reinvigorating the marina and its service to the community.”
Negotiations will include conversations around improvements such as dredging and deferred maintenance, as well as reopening the restaurant and boat repair shop. The goal is to have a lease in place no later than February 1, 2024.
