FORT WASHINGTON, Md.— The National Park Service (NPS) has extended negotiations for the long-term lease of Fort Washington Marina at Piscataway Park. The negotiations, previously expected to end Jan. 9, have been extended 60 days.
The extension will give the NPS and the potential operator time to continue working on the details of the final lease agreement.
Ongoing negotiations include conversations around improvements such as dredging and deferred maintenance, as well as reopening the restaurant and boat repair shop. The goal is to have a lease in place by the spring.
