The National Park Service (NPS) wants to know what services and opportunities you’d like to see at Fort Washington Marina. Should we offer more non-motorized boating opportunities? What types of boat repair services are needed? Would you like to see food and drink services? Help the NPS answer these questions and more at an upcoming public workshop.
What: Public workshop to help determine what services should be offered at Fort Washington Marina. Attendees will have the opportunity to hear from NPS employees, participate in small discussion groups and share ideas on potential services to be offered at the marina.
When: Wednesday, February 27, 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.
Where: Prince George’s County Police Department District VII, Public Meeting Room
11108 Fort Washington Rd.
Fort Washington, MD 20744
The NPS will use ideas and feedback gathered from the workshop to develop a long-term competitive lease opportunity for the marina. The current concession contract ends in November 2019. A competitive lease opportunity will be advertised this summer and will go into effect in November 2019.
The public is also welcome to submit comments via email to e-mail us through March 3, 2019.
Fort Washington Marina is situated in Piscataway Park, national park land that preserves the Mt. Vernon viewshed. Its location on Piscataway Creek provides access to the Potomac River. The marina consists of a single boat launch ramp and five floating docks with 200 boat slips, a fuel dock, two pump-out stations and other visitor amenities. Fort Washington Marina is roughly 5-miles from National Harbor via boat.
